Paisley June

Paisley does so many funny things, I decided to share a few of them with you instead of writing 20 status updates about her on Facebook! Yay!

Paisley LOVES brushing her teeth.
You should see her face light up in the morning when I ask her after breakfast, "Paisley, should we brush your teeth?" She can be in the middle of having a fit, but mention tooth brushing and we're golden.

Paisley LOVES picking fuzzies out from between her toes.
I think she loves this more then brushing her teeth. Her face lights up even more when you show her a fuzz hidden in her toes. She picks it out, and instead of throwing it to the ground, she hands it to me or Dave to throw into the garbage.

Paisley is a perfectionist.
There can be a million toys on the ground but she will find a microscopic crumb or fuzz on the floor, pick it up, and bring it to me or Dave to put into the garbage. While driving, she will often say, "Mom", and after I turn around she'll hand me a hair or fuzz she found somewhere. You should see her try to take something out of her mouth (like a hair, or long lost piece of food).
This is probably why she waited until she was 16 months to start walking. She didn't crawl on hands and knees until after a year. I got questions like, "Is there something wrong?" and "Is she ok?". Geez people, she's fine, but your face isn't going to be if you ask me that one more time.
This is also probably why she says very few words. She says Mom, Dad, dog, buh (for bottle), no, yes (sometimes). One day she's just going to talk sentences and recite some Shakespeare or something.

Paisley loves food...but only certain ways.
Cheese has to be grated or in tiny pieces. Sandwiches or toast has to be in pieces, strips is too hard of work because she has to bite off a piece. She hates meat, but loves meatloaf. She can eat 2 eggs at one meal if they're scrambled. She loves, loves, loves watermelon.
We have to be so careful to only put a small amount of food on her plate at one time. Whatever  is on there at once is going into her mouth all at once. Her mouth will be so full she can't even chew, but she'll still try to get another piece in. This has led to many gags and throwing up.

Paisley loves babies.
If she sees a picture of a baby she squeals and has to give it a kiss. You should have heard her in the baby aisle at Superstore this morning. It was like heaven to her.

If we're sitting on the couch, so is she.
She will sit in the corner of the couch with her arm on the armrest or her hands behind her head for an hour and watch TV with us. You're probably thinking, "man, what an easy kid". Ya, but that sure makes us look like lazy people.

She does weird things with her face.
She will crinkle her nose and blow in out of her nose really fast. Try doing it, it's hilarious. Now imagine a toddler with little teeth doing it.
When she's whining, she closes her eyes and keeps them closed for about 5 seconds after she's done whining. I'm not sure when she started this, but it's kind of perfect. If she wants something she can't have, you simply hide it when her eyes are closed and voila! Problem solved!

She cleans.
If she finds a kleenex, or a wipe, or a washcloth, she will pretend to wipe down the walls, the couch and anything else you can possibly wipe. Between wipes she will pretend to blow her nose and then keep wiping. How sanitary. If she finds an empty bottle or sipper cup, she'll pretend to dump the pretend contents on the ground and then pretend to wipe it up.
Who pretends to clean?!

Man, I can't imagine life without this funny girl. We laugh at her constantly throughout the day (which she just loves). We probably tell her she's cute about 100 times and day.
I just hope her love for babies continues when we have one!

  1. I love how babies have such different personalities. Watch your next baby be complete opposite of Paisley. Other than the gagging and intense cravings is pregnancy going well for you?
